GoodWill Mozambique

GoodWill Mozambique was founded by Gina Orsatti and Pedro Nhamirre.

Gina and I met back in Switzerland during our Salsa lessons in summer 2020. She already had plans to travel to Tanzania and Mozambique at the end of the year and I asked her pretty short notice if she minded if I'd join her in Tanzania for two weeks in December.

Gina has travelled through Africa already the year before and met Pedro in his restaurant on the beach in Vilankulo, Mozambique. They stayed in contact even after Gina left and because of Covid-19 they started a crowdfund to help the locals with food packages and hygiene supplies. 💛

Through that they decided to keep the support going and founded GoodWill Mozambique, a non-profit organisation supporting children's education, women empowerment and communities in need. Their latest project included building the first orphanage in Vilankulo.

After the initial phase, Jeffrey Henseler, a friend of Gina, became involved and significantly enhanced the organisation and its influence. Gina and Pedro handed over the organisation to Jeffrey's capable hands, who redirected the mission and organisation towards the orphanage, assisting children in need.

Gina still visits the village and children whenever possible.
